Elwin Bruno Christoffel (1829 – 1900)

Bir Alman matematikçisi olan Elwin Bruno Christoffel, 1829 tarihinde Montschau, Rheinland’de doğdu. Önce Zürich Polytechnicum’unda, sonra Berlin ve Strasbourg Üniversitelerinde matematik profesörü olarak çalıştı. Özellikle; Abel fonksiyonları, cebirsel fonksiyonlar, parçalı türevli denklemler ve diferansiyel geometri üzerinde çalışmalarda bulundu.
